Certificate of attendance

Once the payment has been made , the student will receive a receipt and, if desired, a certificate of attendance or “Kindergeldbescheinigung” in the case of German students.

“Kindergeld” (only applies to German students under 26 years old)

• To qualify for the “Kindergeld,” the student must be enrolled in a course of ten (10) 45-minute hours per week. Capicúa’s classes from Monday to Thursday, along with the activities on Fridays, exceed ten (10) 45-minute hours.
• How to get “Kindergeld”?
  1. Once the payment has been made (1, 4, 6, 9 months or the full course), the student will receive, if requested, by email a “Kindergeldbescheinigung” issued by Capicúa which must be sent to the corresponding organization in Germany (Kinderstelle).
  2. The student will receive their “Kindergeldbescheinigung” (child benefit certificate) based on the payment made. If they choose to pay for the entire course upfront, they will only need one certificate issued by the school or to fill out the form once. If they pay monthly, they will receive the certificate monthly.

Registration fee

• Registration is free for the 6, 9 and 10 month payment plan.
• The 1 and 4 month payment options include a registration fee of €16.
• Students who take a second course in later years are exempt from paying tuition again.
• Students who choose not to attend class for one (1) month or longer and intend to rejoin later will need to pay tuition again if they wish to secure their place.

Class format: in-person or online

• Group classes are in person.
• In the event that a government order is issued preventing in-person classes due to extraordinary circumstances, such as a pandemic, natural disaster, or any other public health emergency, Capicúa Madrid reserves the right to temporarily move all in-person classes to an online format.
• One-on-one classes (one-on-one course/DELE course) can be in person or online.

Cultural activities

• Expenses related to cultural activities (tickets, transport, etc.) are not included in the price of the courses.
• Only students who are enrolled in a course at Capicúa and who are up to date with their payments will be able to participate in the cultural visits.
• Due to reasons beyond Capicúa’s control (e.g., weather conditions), up to a maximum of three (3) activities per year may be cancelled.
• During the activities, Capicúa is not responsible for minors under any circumstances.
• Activities will only be conducted with a minimum group of 4 students, without prejudice to other students who, for personal reasons, cannot attend. Capicúa therefore reserves the right to cancel any activities in which fewer than 4 (four) students participate.

Payment, cancellation and refund policy

• Payment for monthly courses will always be made in advance, by the 25th of the previous month.
• Capicúa reserves the right to refuse entry to students who are not up to date with their payments.
• Payment is monthly and for the entire month. It is a fixed amount (regardless of school days, local holidays, or national holidays in each month). There will be no discounts for days the student is unable to attend class.
• Under no circumstances will refunds be issued for amounts already paid.
• Payments are non-transferable, meaning a payment made by one student cannot be used for another.
• Payment implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Temporary absences of students from class

• If a student decides to stop attending school temporarily (up to one (1) month), the school only commits to guaranteeing their place, upon payment of 50% of the monthly fee as a reservation fee.
• Students who choose not to attend class for one (1) month or longer and intend to rejoin later will need to pay tuition again if they wish to secure their place.

Group courses: changes in the number of students

• Grouping homogeneous level groups: Throughout the course, Capicúa reserves the right to group students from different classes and even schedules, if their level of Spanish is similar, in order to form a larger group of students, up to a maximum of twelve (12) students.
• Groups of three (3) or fewer students: If, throughout the course, the number of students in a group is reduced to three (3) or fewer than three (3) students, Capicúa reserves the right to make the relevant adjustments (schedule readjustment, integration into another group, opening of a “one on one” course).
• If a solution cannot be found with the affected students, Capicúa reserves the right to cancel any course that does not meet the minimum enrollment requirement. Cancellation of a course by Capicúa entails a refund to the student of any amount paid in advance that has not yet been paid.
• Filling groups up to a maximum of 12 students: once the course has started and without causing major harm, Capicúa may fill the group throughout the course until reaching a maximum of twelve (12) students.

Special Weeks

• We call “special weeks” those weeks when we expect lower student attendance, as many schools are closed. During these weeks (indicated on the school calendar), we don’t continue with the regular curriculum. We delve deeper into Spanish culture, exploring topics such as traditional festivals, gastronomy, Spanish cinema, literature, the political system, and so on. We might also watch a film and do an activity related to it to make the most of this educational resource. We also dedicate these classes to playing games that help develop language skills and practice conversation.
• During these weeks, Capicúa reserves the right to group students from different classes and even change the schedule.

Teaching materials (manual)

• Teaching materials are essential for instruction and very useful for reference. Therefore, they should be purchased regardless of how frequently the teacher uses them in class.
• The teaching material is always complemented with other additional material (texts, games, interactive material, etc.) in order to promote the learning of the four language skills (reading comprehension, oral and written expression and listening comprehension).
• Resale: The teaching material may not be resold to Capicúa once it has been purchased and paid for by the student.

Teachers (professors)

• Capicúa will hire the most appropriate teaching staff for the classes of each course and level.
• Capicúa reserves the right to change the teaching staff throughout the course.
• Capicúa reserves the right to cancel, that is, not make up, up to a maximum of three (3) classes for health reasons or other personal reasons of its teaching staff.
